Organization

Leadership Training

Background: We helped a large Southeast Asian conglomerate that was looking to optimize the performance of their executive team.  Additionally, they wanted to train their managers to use data in decision-making and create effective change in their workforce. 

Action: We lead a company-wide training on utilizing empirically proven leadership techniques.  We then worked with the executive team to create and implement a road map for organizational transformation. We then worked directly with senior managers to create improved team dynamics and psychological safety. 

Result: The firm created a lasting and sustainable organizational and cultural transformation.  This included streamlining their decision making processes, while reducing bureaucracy and operating costs.  The executive team lead propagated their learnings down the company, and created a high-performance and innovative corporate culture.

Corporate Culture Program

Background: We worked with a large media conglomerate that was looking to create a high performance and innovative corporate culture.  Employee surveys and feedback showed an overall lack of innovation, communication, motivation, and culture.

Action: We worked with company leadership to perform a top to bottom corporate culture analysis of the company.  We conducted primary and secondary research using empirically proven corporate culture methodologies. We evaluated existing programs to measure effectiveness and worked to launch a new flagship program that allowed employees to submit and action their own company-wide initiatives.

Result: We created the company’s largest and most successful employee-led innovation program, with team members in the United States, India and Hong Kong.  Resulting Initiatives covered partnership, product innovation, monetization/payments, security, and employee engagement. There was a measured increase in employee satisfaction and innovation.

Organizational De-siloing

Background: We worked with a large Chinese e-commerce firm to reduce silos and build an agile management structure. The firm was looking to leverage data across business units and product lines to increase revenue and reduce costs. 

Action:  We lead an intensive multi-day training focused on optimizing the firm’s operations.  We worked with the entire executive team, including the heads of engineering, product, HR, and finance to understand their core silo challenges. Our team and subject matter experts then created a customized strategy and operations reorganization for the firm.

Result: The Chinese E-commerce firm streamlined their organizational structure in advance of a very important new product launch.  Their new optimized structure then allowed them to move to a more innovative business approach, while simultaneously reducing long-term cost and risk.

Innovation

New Product Development

Background:  We worked with a large healthcare technology company that was looking to launch new products and enter foreign markets.   They wanted to experiment with “failing fast”, while keeping costs low and without deviating from firm strategy.

Action:  We lead an executive-level training on cutting-edge new product management methodologies.  We then used the “data as a strategy” framework to correlate their new product with their existing portfolio, maximizing revenue and minimizing development costs.

Result: The firm successfully launched their new healthcare product and strategically expanded their current offerings into new markets.  Additionally, they built an optimized new product development program, utilizing concepts like design thinking and lean methodologies.

Corporate Innovation Center

Background: We worked with one of the world’s largest companies to launch a corporate innovation center. The firm was looking to launch new products and generate revenue, while minimizing risk and costs.

Action: We conceived, designed, furnished, and successfully launched a top-tier innovation center. We created an optimal venture capital funding process, structured an employee incentive program, created demonstration/showcase days, provided legal/intellectual property support, and leveraged the firms subject matter expertise to provide guidance. 

Result: The innovation center successfully capitalized on the firm’s expertise and infrastructure while minimizing interruption of existing lines of revenue. The center helped create a culture of innovation and provided the ability to quickly test and launch new products.


 

Middle East Government Incubator

Background: We worked with a Middle East government to launch an incubator and investment fund. The program sought to diversify the country’s economy, develop its technology sector, promote entrepreneurship, and create a link to the global value chain.  

Action: We designed and managed the program from conception to successful operation. We sourced companies in partnership with a local team, performed diligence on pipeline start-ups, and provided technical and financial subject matter training to participating companies.  We worked closely with partners, including Silicon Valley companies, top-tier international universities, development banks, and sovereign wealth funds.

Result: Creation of a successful incubator program that launched, assisted, and facilitated funding for dozens of companies. Industry sectors included: technology, energy, steel, and pharmaceuticals. The program attracted international media attention, including a mention in Time Magazine’s 100 most influential list.
