This workshop covers the organization and functional areas of elite technology firms. As the pace of technology shifts, old roles and organizational structures become obsolete, giving rise to new ones. Within these new structures, employee functions are defined by relevant skill sets.
This workshop provides an in-depth look at how technology firms decide on which organization model to use and its associated effectiveness. An in-depth look at corresponding technology functions is then undertaken, demonstrating the requisite skill set.
Students will conduct a practical business consulting mini-project with the course instructor or guest subject matter expert. An assortment of industry subject matter experts will then attend class to give an in-depth look at how these functions add to the organization. Students will be given prior readings to give them context to the discussion and prepare them for the day’s exercises.
